A lot greener than most of the country.Average electrical use in nyc, 4696 kw, Average electrical use in usa, 8,900kwThere is one registered car for every adult in America, In new york there is one for every hundred new yorkers.NYC schoolchildren take public transportationNYC Mail carriers deliver the mail on foot.NYC pizzas are delivered by bicycleNYC fast food restaurants don't have drive up windows120,000 new yorkers bicycle everyday.4.9 million new yorkers take public transportation everydayHummers and Mcmansions are nonexistent.You don't have to like us here in NYC, but don't claim we're not green.
Not to nitpick, but I simply don't believe that 8,900 figure, even the 4696 figure sounds too high. I average less than 2,000kw per month, and I use a lot of electricity. NYC may still come in a little lower on the per-cap for pollution and overall energy consumption, but those figures have to be wrong. That would equate to a $1000 energy bill here, and no one pays that much for their house. Businesses, maybe, and I think that's where the error comes in, I think that figure must also be including business energy consumption.PS - You still couldn't pay me enough to live there.
